Photojojo #120 - Clouds, Trees and Abstract Sculpture
Photojojo #119 - Prismatic Edamame

Here's today's photojojo tag team challenge. My friend took a photo of some prismatic light which goes well with my edamame from Saturday night's dinner for my son's birthday.

Photojojo's Tumblr
Wow - I submitted my twist on Photojojo Tag Team Challenge, which I call Jojo Solo, and they put it up on their ideas page: Photojojo's Tumbler. You can see it here.Recognize mine? It's the one with the photo and the doodle in the middle at the bottom.
Photojojo #118 - Ruth Asawa at DeYoung with Another Young Lady

Today's Photojojo is a young lady with a beautiful teal painted face coupled with a photo I took of Ruth Asawa's beautiful wire sculptures in the DeYoung yesterday. Have you been up in the tower? I had no idea you could go up to an observation platform there. Ruth's sculptures are in the stairwell, near the elevator. They look so good against the concrete walls. I especially like the shadows they cast.
Photojojo #117 - Solo Jojo

Here's another solo jojo - a photo I took of the Crystal Springs Reservoir at Hwy 92 overcrossing, together with an abstract in my bathroom yesterday morning as I was getting all dolled up to go to the DeYoung Museum to see my friend Laurie.

Photojojo #116 - Cranes and Vitamins
Here's today's Photojojo - my partner has resurfaced. My photo of my morning fish oil vitamins (yuk!) is paired with their photo of a wrecking ball.Photojojos #114 and 115

Here are two more "solo" jojos....hmmm, I should tell Photojojo about this idea....
The first one is a photo I took of or near the Leslie Salt facility in Hayward last fall in the late afternoon light. That site won't be there much longer. I see the drums from ground water monitoring they are performing. Once they get closure on those results showing they've cleaned it all up, they'll be able to tear down the building and move on with redevelopment. It's paired with a watercolor doodle I did at an art afternoon at a friend's house nearby.
Until they demo the salt site, I really enjoy seeing the dilapidated structure with the golden sun streaming down onto it in the late afternoons.
Below is a light standard on the San Mateo Bridge, paired with a doodle from a meeting at my former work. I did a lot of doodling in staff meetings because otherwise I wanted to jab my eyes out with the pencil...
Photojojo #113 - Flying Solo Again
Sometimes the photojojo partner travels or is sick, or I just don't get a photo from them for awhile. So what I do then is go into my archive of more than 16,500 photos (yes!) and find a photo to pair up with some drawn art that I created. This is a different kind of photojojo, but interesting nonetheless.
Happy Friday! The weather reports that it should be pouring rain today, but there is a nice bright spot of sunshine on my comforter where the dog is snoozing.
I'm off to De Young Museum today for some Art-O-Mancy. Stay posted for those results later tonight.

Photojojo #112 - Let Us Remember Beauty

Here's today's photojojo - #112. My pal's lettuce pairs up with a photoshopped photo of a lupine-type flower on the walk from the bus this morning.

Photojojos #110 and 111
I've been swamped at work so it has been hard to find time to take the photos and then do the photojojos. But this is why it is so good to have a partner, because they do find the time, and send you their photos and then you are reminded, inspired, pressured, compelled to hold up your end of the bargain.
Here are two photojojos (4 photos) for the price of one today.
My photo partner's luscious strawberries in fondue, with my sidewalk markings (#110):
and my partner's barren trees awaiting the spring blossoms, together with my unretouched photo of clouds in this morning's early sky (#111).

New Photojojo Challenge Starting at #106
I have a new photojojo challenge starting today with a new photo pal. I'm going to keep numbering these sequentially because that will allow me to track my photo skillage progress. Mine is of steam coming off the top of a building my friend works in, and my photo pal's animal toys.

My Own Photojojos Continue - #101

Today, here's a photo I took by a big pile of rust in St. Paul last summer, paired up with a doodle drawing I did a few years before that. They aren't inspired by the other - just connected through me and the art I love to do.

Me, Myself and I - Solo Photojojos

I don't have a photojojo partner right now, since Nancy and I completed at Photojojo #100 over the weekend. So, I decided to keep this going by Photojojo'ing with myself.
Here's how it works. I'll take two photos of my own and combine them together. Rather than the randomness that is so special in working with a Photojojo partner, I'll actually pick two photos I'd like to see paired, either because of subject matter, color, composition, or some other reason I think they "go with." Here's Photojojo #101, a portion of a building in SoMA SF, and a tree against the rainy sky I took today at work.
Let me know what you think!
