Googling Cornpone

I find titles for my art pieces in the most unusual places. Sometimes, I do word association with the piece and Google. I take a word that describes my association with the piece (in this case, cornpone) and enter that into the Google search bar (within my Firefox browser). I take the first set of words that come up that cyber-associate with that word of mine. Kind of like that game we played when we were kids, or what the psychiatrist asks you to do.

Two Thoughts - Monday's Art

Don't combine bananas and onions when cooking, and don't confuse a bar of soap with a block of cheese.

Guy Fieri!

It is almost impossible to see from this photo, but this is Food Network's Guy Fieri at SFO tonight. He was in the seat behind me on the flight in from Chicago. By his carry on, my hunch is that he had been to the SuperBowl in Tampa. He had a football with him.

I told him the Jimbo Hambo was great and he was quite pleasant, but sleepy. (I think he partied pretty late last night....)

I know, this doesn't really qualify as art, but it was artful to get a photo of him with my honkin' camera without him seeing me. Distinct advantage of having a semi-telephoto lens. I was at the far end of the baggage claim - he was at the other.

I first saw him in the waiting area at O'Hare and thought he was a football player, but then someone came up to him and when I heard his voice I knew it was the bad boy himself!

How It All Came Out

Funny thing happened in the archetype workshop. I avoided using the "engineer" archetype because it just seemed too easy and obvious. But, the pack of cards I received had two engineer cards in it, so I resigned to it and re-picked and re-sorted. Here is my cast chart of archetypes, including the engineer in my Unconscious House (#12).

Stats for January

There are 31 days in January and I came in with 29 posts. I am not counting this one as it is not really art-related.

Goal for February: a full 28!

First Commission Piece

I have been meaning to post this painting I did last December for my sister-in-law.

I transferred a photo of the Eiffel Tower I took while in Paris in late 2006. Then, I painted around it, including collage elements.

I also gave my SIL the two photos in the above post to go with it for this Christmas.

She was thrilled!
